How YOU can help
If you would like to help heal the wounds
caused by the sexual abuse scandal in the Church,
please call your bishop and ask him to distribute
A CHILD’S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY
to all members of his flock, just as Bishop Thomas Olmstead
of Phoenix, AZ. did.
Also ask him to give the victims,
as Cardinal Justin Rigali of Philadelpia did,
the opportunity to tell their stories
directly to the priests, nuns, and religious brothers
in your diocese.
Please say a A CHILD’S PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY
as frequently as possible.

Bishop Aymond comments on the trend in child sex abuse
Bishop Gregory M. Aymond of Austin, Tex., who heads the Bishops’ Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People, said that although he was encouraged by the trend in numbers : 1,092 abuse claims in 2004, 783 in 2005 and 714 in 2006, the findings are “sobering” and added, “the fact that there are ANY recent cases at all is very disconcerting.”
